We would like to wish all our clients, customers and partners a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Our offices will close over the Holiday period from Thursday 17th December, opening again on Monday 4th January 2016

We’re Supporting Bishop Auckland Rugby Club

We have decided to support the Under 15s Girls and Boys teams of Bishop Auckland Rugby Club  as part of our commitment to helping local good causes, especially those concerned with young people. We are looking forward to a long term partnership with the club and we will be seeking out opportunities to work together to improve opportunities for young people in the Town.

Kitchen showroom nears completion for Magnet

A dowdy corner of a factory has been transformed into a showroom space in our latest project for Magnet in Darlington. As well as the showroom (of more than 200 square meters), we have converted space to form offices, interview rooms and toilet facilities in what was a pretty tatty corner of Magnet’s factory complex in Darlington. We look forward to visiting again when the showroom is fitted out with Magnet’s range of superb kitchens.

Our Place in the Fastest 50 confirmed

Great news – our place in this year’s Fastest 50 list has been confirmed!

This is a testimony to our strategy of steady growth for the company. We have increased turnover and profit in each of the last three financial years, remaining on course to recovery from the difficult trading conditions of the preceding period. Family ownership has enabled us to take a long term view of client and partner relationships. It is through the continued support of both clients and partners that we have been able to successfully build the business into one of the leading construction companies in the Region.

North East Fastest 50

Great News – we’ve provisionally made this year’s list of the fastest growing companies in the North East Region. Our record of growth over the last three years, with increases in turnover and profit in each year, has put us in the running for fastest growing business. There is a long way to go in the awards process yet and you can keep track of progress in the  Newcastle Journal, but it’s good to see our success recognised across the Region.

Kind words from St Mary Magdalene

We have just received a glowing commendation from the Rector of St Mary Magdalene, Yarm in respect of work our Specialist Joinery Division recently completed at the church.

Reverend Ford said of the two elements of the project – “… both executed with extraordinary skill and craftsmanship…it is refreshing to see such standards of workmanship…”.

The project involved major alterations and improvements to the chancel, matching into the existing fittings; relocation of an elaborately detailed timber paneled store and creation of a new servery. More details along with photographs will be posted on our websites and shortly.

We’re in at the beginning of the Bishop Auckland regeneration project

We are delighted to be appointed as main contractor on the first phase of Bishop Auckland’s regeneration. We have begun work on the refurbishment of Roper House, a listed building in the Town’s Market Place – the first solid signs of Auckland Castle Trust’s ambitious regeneration plans for Bishop Auckland. Roper House has been a blot on the landscape of the Town for many years and now will be fully refurbished and brought back into use by the Trust. We are very pleased to be involved with the Trust at this early stage and we hope this is just the beginning of a successful programme of regeneration for the Town as well as the first of many projects we can deliver for this client.

More details of the project can be found here:

First phase at Kings Priory complete and second phase started.

We have recently completed the first phase of work in a £4 million project for Kings Priory School, Tynemouth, handing over a modern extension at the school’s Percy Road site. And we were delighted to be selected as the school’s contractor on the second phase – the refurbishment of their Huntington Place site. This second phase is focused on the school’s sixth form centre, based in a prominent listed building in the heart of Tynemouth Village.

A New Phase of Refurbishment for Home Group at Iconic Tynemouth Flats Underway

We are delighted to have been appointed once again by Home Group to carry out refurbishment to Knotts Flats. After the success of our first project at this iconic block of flats in Tynemouth, replacing patio doors, we have now secured a second £1 million plus contract to refurbish the block. This phase of work will be undertaken through the summer this year with a break for the winter and recommence in spring 2016. The work includes repointing and replacing windows to all the flats.

We’re on the Cover of Custodial Review Magazine

Our Specialist Joinery Division recently completed three charge desks for the Avon and Somerset Police Authority. One, at a new police centre in Bridgwater appears on the cover of Custodial Review Magazine’s latest edition and is the subject of a feature in the magazine. We received a Highly Commended at the British Woodworking Federation’s Awards last year in the Innovation Category for this project and it’s great to see that the client is delighted with the installation, seeing it as setting a standard for future custody suites.
