About Us

Almost 150 years: that’s a long time in business, particularly in the construction industry. This is one of our greatest strengths as it lends an air of maturity and longevity that is hard to match.

The company is made up of three divisions: Contracting; Specialist Joinery and Small Works.

Contracting is the company’s bread and butter and we have completed many prestigious projects throughout the North East working closely with a number of NHS Trusts, Local Authorities and commercial and private clients.

Our Small Works division is a highly organised, rapid reaction department that handles, in the main, insurance work for all of the major UK insurance companies.

Our Joinery Division is an extremely valuable asset to the company, the quality and workmanship of the bespoke products they manufacture are in a class of their own.

Over recent years we have pursued a policy of controlled expansion and our present turnover is circa £10m per annum. This has necessitated an increase in staff to around 80 full time employees, and also necessitated the move to our new premises.

As for the next 150 years; who knows, but we have every intention of still being around in the year 2160.
