Construction Key Personnel

Alan regards himself first and foremost as a Quantity Surveyor and actually enjoys counting bricks (sad). He’s also into IT (even sadder) and is always buying new gadgets.

As Construction Director Alan is not only responsible for the overall performance of the division, but is actively involved in the estimating and tendering process. He’s always on the look out for new idea’s that will improve the construction process. He says he loves his job and wouldn’t do anything else.

Married to Helen, an assistant head teacher, they have two boys, so when Alan’s not at work he is usually doing something with his kids, which he says keeps him young (who’s he kidding)? He also enjoys good food and says that one day he intends to eat his way around France.

Barry’s a bricklayer by trade and over the years has proved his worth. As a result he progressed to being a foreman, and was subsequently promoted to Site Manager.

He’s exited by the job and tells us that it beats the hell out of bricklaying but can be very demanding, to the extent that he often eats lunch on the hoof (welcome to the world of management). It’s just as well that his main hobby is going to the gym to keep himself looking young and fit.

He has recently completed a new ‘Surestart’ unit of which he is justifiably proud as not only is the quality of workmanship superb, he brought in on time, to budget, .and to the client’s entire satisfaction; which is, he assures us, his main aim in life.
