St. Patrick’s R.C. Primary School, Consett

This was a large extension to the school which incorporates five new classrooms providing spacious and light accommodation; this was achieved through the inclusion of a large central roof light which runs the entire length of the building.

A further feature designed by architects David Darbyshire and Partners is the use of exposed laminated roof beams. Despite some initial problems in the ground the contract was completed with minimum delay or disruption to the school.
